CALPHO Pillars
Policy & Advocacy
CALPHO actively lobbies at the state legislature on member-selected priorities, including increasing public health funding and improving infrastructure. Our policy committee is comprised of public health professionals from across the state representing various public health sub-specialties.
Member Supports
CALPHO creates a collegial and supportive space for public health directors and their staff to collaborate and meet shared challenges together. We facilitate continuous learning, peer support, and timely research that helps members serve their communities effectively.
Partnerships
CALPHO members and staff represent the voice of local public health in many statewide conversations. We strive to amplify messages coming from local public health, enhance partnerships between local agencies and state agencies, and champion the public health perspective wherever possible. We believe that everyone and every organization has a role to play in public health.
